NAKED IN THE NIGHT

Naked in the dark. Sound of a meadow lark.
Skin soft as velvet and legs
As long as he could see.
Smitten, heels over head
With roses on the bed and
Foreheads close-up and free.

Candle light glow, just so
He could know
Exactly where he wanted to be.
In the moment on the other side
Of the universe, don't you see.
Naked in the night, it's all right.

Naked in the night, it's all right.
Love in the dark.
Sound of the meadow lark.
Only a footnote away.
Pleasant dreams for lovers and
For loving, and bodies to sway.

Bare, soft skin. Naked is to feel.
Breathing Hallelujah -- it's so real.
Ones and twos and a
Listen to the blues.
Soft as moonlight with the muse.
Naked in the night. And it's all right.
ALIEN'S DREAM

Dream, dream, awake with a scream.
Dogs bark, barking at fears.
Siren from the Sea, awaken, it's me.
Awakening to thee.

Dirty man washing his clothes
So angry. Get out!
Hormones cooking.
Dream, dream, awake with a scream.

Get out! Dream, call out but for whom.
Lost maidenhood, unfulfilled hopes.
Not all that can be?
Dream, dream, awake with a scream.

Dogs, dogs, dogs, Dream, and of whom.
For all of me,
Or, I the displaced person, long-ago Siren of the Sea?
Begotten on this planet, in place of me?

Love, laugh, sing, dance, a part of life,
But alone, afraid, driven. Know there is no
Escape from the dream versus the dreamer.
Dream, dream, awake with a scream.

Traffic slowing, a woman in the road.
Not dead, awaiting what, just lying.
Stop, go back, not dead, just repose.
Yell, awake with a scream, cry.

Mean fears, hidden, exposed.
That felon rape happens, fear happens.
Fear not man, power, fear, self.
Dream, dream, awake without scream.

Siren from the deep arise,
In splendor,. Give comfort.
Bring joy, pleasure, give and so to keep.
In dreamless sleep, rest, repose, peace.

Women, women all in a row.
Waiting for lovers to let them know.
Leave the large fine grape for another.
Dream, dream, awake the young mother.

BALI

I dreamed I went to Bali
I bought a basket or two
To decorate the house on the hill
To remind me of them and you.

You envision the natives smiling
You can feel a heavenly thrill
It's God's kids and culture
As much as any child will.

If you take me back to Bali
I'll be your friend for life
So pure, so gentle, so
Free of stress and strife.

The smell of peanut oil pervades me
The sound of waves asplash
They sing to me of islands
Some day I must go back.

To Bali, to Bali.

COLLEGE ALGEBRA

Yeah! College Algebra, it's a joke.
If you don't watch out it will make you croak.
It's lack of purpose, lack of use
Makes students suffer like the deuce.

I can take it, I can do
But what's the reason I have to?
Four times four is easy enough
Square Root of 1.44 is rather tough.

Quadratic Equations I'll admit
May sound interesting but useful as shit.

Call it rite of passage, call it Ah Ha!
It's just a requirement Einstein Newton Rah Rah!
Try me and tempt me, make me cry and blue,
Just give me a tutor, and I'll plow through.

I'M 75 AND STAYING ALIVE

So glad to be alive. Yea, I can still jive.
Never thought I'd ever get this far
Ah youth, how innocent we are.
No regrets for all the things I haven't done.
Jumped in the deep end of the pool.
Stopped acting like a fool.
Memories: the Hudspeth 5' pool,
Letting go - all the way! Never all the way, but hey!
I'm not dead yet, don't say I'm all wet!
Got lots of livin' to do. This lovely broad is not through.
Northern Lights, the aurora, I was there.
Listened to the angels present at my birth,
Just a little while before coming to this earth,
Two babies, never thought I'd have that gift.
Now they are grown up and always a lift.
Ah, 75, and glad to be alive. Ain't no jive.
My skin's a little saggy and my ass a little baggy,
But this tomato is sexier than Hot Tin Maggie.
So you whine, and dine and shine it off.
Life goes on. So they scoff.
Wait till "they" get to the other side of fifty.
Their philosophy will become a little shifty.
The world turns, the tide turns, and the sun burns.
Doom and gloom those creatures from Mars,
Jump on sometimes whether you're at home or in your cars.
"Time waits for no one" reverberates in my mind.
So take my advice and put it where the sun don't ever shine.
Settle in, keep up with your grin, go out on a limb,
Dare to be proud, say it aloud!
Proclaim to the worlds, tell the rest of the girls,
Sweet Sixteen is a memory, 70 eyesight a little glimmery.
You'll get the wim-wams, you get the heeby jeebs.
The doctor says take "settlers" but the answer isn't these.
Where to go for comfort, I can never doubt
No matter what the hole is, God always helps me out.
