Memory... Writing about my trip to see my preciousbaby sister, June. Written September 7, 2006, 9:45 p.m.
Dianne has perfect penmanship. I am jealous, but it may lead mt to slow down and try to dod it better... I'll try anyhow. I don't know how to write without going as fast as I can.
I had a good time being in Messoula and seeing June and her family. They treated us like royalty, and I think Dianne really enjoyed the trip.
It cost her a lot of money (and me too). I loved seeing my precious sweet baby sister. She has been diagnozed as having palsy. I can't believe it is true. I think she has had a much harder time than any of us know. She has tried lots of medicines and has, off and on, good days.
I only hope and preay she can settle down and recover from her malady. I know she is loved so very greatly by her family and her friends.
It was a very good visit but unhappily I think it was too much for her. And it was hard for me to see her try to talk.
We had a lot of good food including yellow watermelon. Dianne spent a lot of money to go with me, and it made the trip much better for me and easier.
I had prayed to God to look after Junee so she can sing again. We love the Lord and ask and receive His blessing in Jesus name. God bless June and her family. Susy and her family, Dan and Betsy, Dick and Ann. Sorry I did not get to see the rest of her family. Lovingly, Eve

Shake It Off and Step Up!
This parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer's well. The water wasn't very deep, so the mule could stand on the bottom. The farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neigher the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together and told them what had happened and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in th well and put him out of his misery.
Initially, the old mule was hysterical. But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and as the dirt hit his back a thought struck him. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back he should sake it off and step up.
This he did, blow after blow of dirt hitting his back. "Shake it off and step up... Shake it off and step up... shake it off and step up." The mule repeated this statement over and over to enccourage himself. No matter how painful the blows, or how distressing the situation seemed, the old mule fought panic and just kept right on shaking it off and stepping up.
It wasn't long before th old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the wall of the well. What seemed like it would bury him, actually helped him, all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity.
That's life. If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness, or self-pity... the adversities that come along to bury us ually have within them the very real potential to benefit us. Never be afraid to try something new.

"I
keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love
and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety or fear try to call
me, they'll get a busy signal--and soon they'll forget my number."

How to Have Enthusiasm
- Look for interest and romance in the simple things.
- Enlarge your view of your own God-given capacities. Within the
limit of humility, develop a good opinion of yourself.
- Diligently practice eliminating all dull, dead, unhealthy thoughts
so that your mind may be freshened up and capable of developing enthusiasm.
- Daily affirm enthusiasm. As you think it, talk it, and live it,
you will have it.
- Practice daily relaxation to keep your mind and spirit from getting
tired.
- Act enthusiastic, for as you act you tend to be.
- Allow no sense of guilt to take the luster off your spirit.
- Keep the creative channel open between you and God. Enthusiasm
is "enthos" meaning "God-given."
- Keep spiritually vigorous and alive.
- Give all you've got to life and it will give its greatest gifts
to you. It will never grow dull.

NELSON MANDELA
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our
darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to
be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who
are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't
serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to
make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just
in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As
we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates
others.
Nelson Mandela, 1994 Inaugural Speech
PERSISTENCE
"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent
will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius
will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will
not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination
alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press on' has solved and always
will solve the problems of the human race."
Calvin Coolidge
PROMISE YOURSELF
Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace
of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person
you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in
them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism
come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and
expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success
of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the
past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear
a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature
you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry,
too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the
presence of trouble.
